David Taylor Dadswell's story

David Taylor Dadswell, a game keeper, bailiff and fishmonger, was the second and only surviving son of David Taylor and Harriett Dadswell. He was born at Rotherfield on 22 May 1825.

On 18 July 1844 at Brighton, he married Mary Ann Wickenden. The couple lived in the Rotherfield area - in 1851 they were at Steelcross and in 1861 at Leach Pitt Cottage. They had eight children.

David Dadswell died on 17 May 1880, just short of his 57th birthday; Mary Ann lived until 1895 when she was about 70 years old.
